High Battery charge quick drain

The battery in this phone was not lasting even a full day. I’ve successfully replaced the battery with an iFixit replacement. Other posts I’ve seen say that it needs to be “conditioned” - charging to 100%, Restarting the phone with power and Home button pressed until Apple Logo shows. I’ve done this twice now and the phone still shuts off overnight from being 100% charged at 2:00pm.

The local repair shop won’t touch it saying the battery is probably damaged and the charging circuit AND the battery would have to be changed out.

Any ideas please?

Even though you’re battery is “new”, you may have received a bad battery. Use a battery utility, such as coconutBattery (for Mac) or 3uTools (for Windows). Anything less than 70% of design capacity will require replacement. You can also use the Battery Health Diagnostic (Settings\Battery\Battery Health (Beta)) in iOS 11.3 and above. It will tell you what the health of the battery is.

The problem with aftermarket batteries is that they don’t all report true numbers. iFixit takes great care in sourcing good batteries but a bad one is bound to slip through every once in awhile. So even if it tests properly, ideally, you need to test a known good battery to determine if the problem is with the battery or something else on the phone.
