Vizio m50-c1 has no picture but has both sound and backlights.

Vizio has no picture at all. Vizio logo does not light up when turning on tv. Unable to see menu screen with flashlight test. Have replaced both the Tcon and main board but no change. Still no video at all. Any ideas? Thank you

Answer this question I have this problem too

You said that the Vizio has backlights, but you still went for the flashlight test, so I’m a little confused. Normally, you’d do the flashlight test when the unit doesn’t have backlights. So the unit powers on, the display brightens and you can hear audio, but you receive no images on the display - correct?

I'd make sure that the LVDS cable(s) is seated well in the main board as well as the TCON board. It's possible this cable(s) could be bad as well, so it might be worth buying a replacement.

Do you have recommendation of where to get a good LVDS cable. ShopJimmy doesn't seem to sell them with the TCON or Main board.

I have the same issue "Vizio m50-c1 has no picture but has both sound and backlights". So far I have changed the power board and the T-con board and still the same. I was wondering what the solution ended up being. So it appears if I disconnect one of the cables to the screen on the T-con board I have half of a display so I guess my screen buffer is shot which is built into the display

Considering what has already been replaced (assuming that the replacement boards work properly), I would check the power supply, Perhaps you are missing one voltage. There should be markings on the board near the connectors that indicate voltages at each pin of the connectors. Check for the correct voltages at those connectors and report back here with any discrepancies.

I have the same issue "Vizio m50-c1 has no picture but has both sound and backlights". I followed someone else’s instructions to unplug one of the ribbons leading out of the t-con board leaving only one connected, Did it for both cables and when I unplugged the right side ribbon my picture was restored for only half of my TV so it was determined that the integral screen buffer board was bad on one side of the screen . That is as far as I got it seems I may need to replace the screen if anyone has one cheap hit me up.

If tcon ribbon cable removed and one side works, then search online for scotch tape fix on tcon board and video will explain how to fix the issue.
