Still runs with door open
Why does my microwave oven continue to run after the door is opened. Model PEB1590DM2BB

it definitely should not. Please do not run it with the door open. This could easily hurt/harm someone because of microwave radiation.
What you seem to have is a stuck interlock switch. This switch usually stops the flow of electricity when the door is opened. Manufacturer part number is WB24X10029
Number 604 in the diagram
Slightly different model but should be very similar to your model shown here

I cannot emphasize how important it is to not run a microwave with the door open. You can get third degree burns if you aren't careful and reach into the microwave when it is running. Plus, running the microwave while it is open increases the risk of cancer as radiation levels are increased.
@ajcooke01 FYI Microwave ovens do not cause cancer. Microwave ovens do not make foods radioactive. Microwave ovens heat food by producing radiation which is absorbed by water molecules in the food. They may cause burns but not cancer! Please inform yourself first when posting about issues like this.
@oldturkey03 I guess chemistry teachers aren't as knowledgeable as I thought they were. Thanks a lot to my current chemistry teacher for screwing me over.
