iPad Reboots After ~5 minutes Following Digitizer Replacement

I recently repaired my first iPad digitizer. The part I ordered was said to be OEM grade. Following the repair the device seemed to work fine. After around 5-10 minutes of use it would shut off and reboot. Tried hard reset, restore, and even some random work arounds that were recommend to me. After restoring I was able to use the device for several minutes and didn’t have any issue. I let it sit for several hours and never had it reset. Returned the device to its owner and they said it started to do the same thing. My question is what could cause this and what I need to do to prevent it in the future.

Did you remember to put the screw back in for the battery connector?

Do believe I did, but I remember having some issues. Think that the solution is that simple?

There may also be a bit of glass between the board and battery causing a bad connection. Sitting motionless wouldn’t cause a problem, but moving the device around could cause it to pull away from that connection slightly

I’ll have to open it up again and take a look. Thanks guys.

I only asked because I have forgotten that screw once or twice. haha.

You’ll want to get that iPad back and open it up. As others have suggested, make sure the battery connector is screwed on tight. While you’re at it, you should also test the condition of the battery with 3uTools or coconutBattery.

I would also try another digitizer if you have one on hand to see if that makes any difference.
