Autofocus issue in liveview for Tamron 70-300mm

I have been facing autofocus issue with Tamron 70-300mm VC USM lens on Nikon D5300. The camera autofocuses fine through viewfinder but it is not able to autofocus at all in liveview, the lens just hunts for autofocus but not being able to autofocus in the end. The camera autofocuses fine in both liveview and viewfinder with all other lenses, which rules out the possibility of being something wrong with the camera. The Tamron lens was working fine like a week back and it suddenly started having this issue. I need help on what might be the cause of this and how to get it fixed. Thanks.

P.S: There are some dirt particles when i look through the viewfinder but it doesn't affect the shots. Just for FYI.

If you have any other lenses like the kit lens, or at least something that isn't the Tamron, do they hunt in the same way?

Also, the particles in the viewfinder are likely from tiny specks of dust on the Fresnel lens right under the viewfinder, which won't affect autofocus, and is completely normal.

In most cases, third-party lens makers (Tamron, Sigma, Tokina, etc) must reverse engineer lenses to make them work with Canon, Nikon, etc. cameras, which means they don’t have direct access to the latest from either of the camera makers. What all that means is that a lot of times, you need the same generation lens as camera. For example, I have a Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 LD Macro AF lens for which I paid $29 just for fun. The “softness” of the low-end lens actually makes it ideal for shooting flowers, specifically with my older, lower end Nikon D70. The lens works perfectly with that body. However, if I put the same lens on the older Nikon D100 or newer Nikon D800E, it has trouble focusing sometimes, and hardly ever does it in live view on the D800E. The ideal solution is to look for a third-party lens made around the same time as your Nikon D5300 (2013-2014) DSLR camera. The good news is, such a lens will be cheaper than buying a new one. Man. sorry for just seeing this now. But the best solution to your problem is to switch to a nikon lens, or before you do that, make sure your camera is updated t the latest firmware. most people don’t do this. Its a very important step
