swiping up from bottom does not work on the ipad 2 front panel.

I replaced my ipad 2 front panel. everything is working except when i try to swipe up from the bottom It does not respond. I can swipe up in the middle and upper part of the ipad. but i cannot swipe upward from the very bottom of the screen. I also did not seal the ipad securely so it is partially sealed and partially not sealed towards the bottom and the left side. Could that be the problem? If not what could be the cause of the issue. I bought the screen off of ebay.

Why did you replace your original front panel? Was it broken? If it’s not broken, try reinstalling the original front panel and see if this continues.

It was severely cracked to the point where it would not respond to touch.

@kgreaves Alright, I suggest you take a look at Minho's answer as it answered this question well.

First of all, kudos for properly testing the screen before sealing it up. It’s a critically important step that many folks ignore.

It’s not uncommon to have bad digitizers, especially if you bought one off of eBay. The first thing to do is to verify that the digi is properly connected and that the connector isn’t damaged in any way. Those ZIF connectors with the flap have to close uniformly otherwise some of the connections from the flex will not make proper contact and therefore you will see a “dead zone”.

If that looks good, then you probably have a bad digitizer. Have your vendor replace it or order one from a reputable vendor like iFixit.
