Laptop turned off suddenly even with fully charged iFixit battery

Hi all,

I replaced the battery of my Macbook Air last year, and I have been using it very sparely. Today, I left the computer on for half an hour, after being fully charged the whole day. When I came back, the computer was off. I had to connect it to the power to be able to turn it on again, and it was showing 1% in the battery when it was on.

Coconut battery shows no problem with the battery, but this is not the first time that it happens. It has only 15 cycles, and the charge is almost 7000 mAh (from the original 7200 mAh).

Is there anything I can do?

Can you post a snapshot of CoconutBattery both with the MagSafe plugged in and a second one with the MagSafe disconnected so we can see what you're facing 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기

I think we need to look at your MagSafe charger as the battery looks good!

Review this Apple T/N Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters lets make sure your adapter is the correct one, the MagSafe cable is not damaged and the connector faces are clean and not damaged. If the systems MagSafe connection looks discolored you may need to replace it.

Lastly, your cycles count is a bit high considering your use pattern. As an example I’m still running on the original battery my system had keep in mind this is an older 2012 unibody MacBook Pro! Divide out my cycles by five years you’ll see your running high in comparison (15 cycles within one year). I suspect you tend to run the battery dry which is not something you want to do with LiOn batteries as you kill one of its lives (cycles).

The laptop went from full charge to be off (and no charge) while it was not connected with the MagSafe. I don’t see how a faulty MagSafe would play any role on it when it was not connected at all.

Anyhow, I looked at the Magsafe following the instructions in the link you provided, and I don’t see any problem with it.

Then you have the system running in Sleep mode (front White LED phasing in and out).

If you've turned off the system fully off then you have a current leak within the power circuit which would need extensive debugging as it could be anywhere.

Lets try this charge your system fully and make sure to shut down your system for the night. Then in the morning lets get a snap of CoconutBattery to see how much loss you had overnight.
