I am trying to install macOS El Capitan on my early 2009 iMac and I get this error…
What could be the issue here?! I’m downloading the installer from the official Apple Support website (here) and am using the createinstallmedia command to create the installer. I also heard that an incorrect date/time can cause this, if that could be the issue how do I correct it (change the date/time)?

Alright so I solved my problem with the solution in the link below. I had to change the date and time via the terminal in the installer and from there on the installer worked fine for me.

@mayer @danj I understand you two are the Mac guys around here, do you have any insights on this issue? I also know it's Christmas (merry Christmas!) so I'm not expecting a quick reply.
