I am bringing my iPod 5th gen back to life, or at least trying.

After recently discovering my iPod 5th Gen i decided to invest some time and energy (and cash) into trying to bring it back to life. Currently my iPod is stuck in a phase where half the time it is very dim lit with a message reading something similar to “this iPod has very little battery life, please charge and return” After resetting the iPod with the select and play buttons the screen will turn full brightness, display the apple logo and then some sort of text. My screen is cracked so i have decided to order a new display and a new battery for starters. Should i get a replacement hard drive as well? Ive read about a possible SSD swap instead? I’m looking for any possible advice or pointers to see if what i have in mind is possible, or am i just dumping money into something that wont work again. Thank You all

An SSD is a good idea, but replace one thing at a time. That way, if one of the new parts doesn’t work right, you know which one it is.

This is an old post, but I would recommend the iFlash adapter for an SSD-like replacement.
