Home button doesn't work when installed in place

So on my iPad Pro, whenever I install the home button with the bracket and everything, it doesn’t work. But when I take both out and click it with my hand manually, then it works. How do I fix that? I thought it was pressure at first but when I install it, it doesn’t matter how hard I press on the bracket, I can’t get it to work. The button clicks but the iPad doesn’t register it. Unless I click by hand when I take out the bracket.

"Doens't work" is a vague description, we need more details: does the home button click when you press it? or it clicks but no response in the system? what about the touch ID?

Updated! The button clicks but the iPad doesn’t register it. Unless I click by hand when I take out the bracket.

@taziamoma That is very odd, I never encountered this issue before, sorry :(

@sammyz me neither. I'm completely stumped. What do you think it could be?

@taziamoma My first thought is the pressure. But since you mentioned that was not the case, I'm baffled as to what the cause may be, let's get some input from @refectio

The bracket is off center when you are putting the screen back on and something is pressing on the opposite side. It’s happened to me before.

Do you think a missing gasket seal would cause this?

For sure. It's totally possible. The variance on getting that button to push down properly is miniscule. No gasket would definitely change that variable.
