Why is my Toshiba Satellite L55-A284 (L55-A) running slow?

I recently got a new laptop from my grandma for my birthday and it ran great. I could run games like mine craft and stuff at 60 fps and no lag. But I wanted to make it faster so I messed with the power plan settings and windows performance settings and now its even slower than it was before . I now get 0 fps, I don’t know what I did wrong but I regret it.
