Display, keyboard and logo lights not working
Yesterday I left my Macbook Pro (15 inch Retina, mid 2015) open while I went to get a coffee refill and came back to find the screen black and the laptop unresponsive.
When I power it on, the display remains black and the keyboard backlight and Apple logo don't light up. When I click the trackpad I can feel that the haptic feedback is working though.
I attached the Macbook to an external display via HDMI, but the display didn’t get any signal. I also tried using a flashlight on the screen, but couldn’t see anything. I reset the PRAM and SMC, but it didn’t seem to have any effect.
I chatted with Apple support and they advised me to bring it in to an Autorized Reseller for repair. The problem is that I’m based in Addis Ababa at the moment, and Apple don’t have a list of resellers for Ethiopia.
So any ideas about what can be done to fix this would be much appreciated, and will help me decide if I should try getting it repaired locally or maybe tackle it myself.
Thanks.

What does your MagSafe charger LED show: Amber or Green?
Dan 의
It shows amber - I assumed that was because it is not fully charged, but I'll try charging it for a while and see what happens.

Update: I charged the Macbook, and now the magsafe LED is green.

Did that fix it?

No, still the same issue with the display and other lights.
