Brake lights work when truck is off but when I turn the key they stop

My brake lights work when the truck is off but when I turn on my key they stop working. All other lights work ( reverse, both turn signals, running lights) cannot figure it out. 94 GMC Sierra

Yes the hazards work with the key on

Not trying to be annoying ;-)

The hazards and the brake light share nearly the same circuit. Same fuse, same wiring path after the hazard switch

Do the hazards work with the key in the off position?

Have you checked that the brake light fuse is OK?

Just wondering if it is getting power from somewhere else rather than its own fuse when the ignition is off which is not there with the ignition On.

No I really appreciate the help I am so confused as to why this is happening. The hazard lights work with the truck off as well

And the fuses are all ok I just replaced them to make sure that wasn’t the issue
