Weird grey flickering lines appeared on my screen? Are they dangerous?

Okay, so first of all you should know that my iPad has been broken before. I have no idea where my Dad got the screen fixed, but that happened years ago. Recently, the bottom of my screen has become unresponsive, and now if I press down at the bottom, nothing happens. Sometimes random things get clicked on there, which can be annoying. And now, these little flickering grey lines have appeared on one the edge next to the home button. I don't know what they are, but they weren't there before. I don’t have the money or the capabilities to fix it myself, I just want to be assured that these little issues won't end up making my iPad break down or anything. I can live with screen issues, I just can't afford to repair the screen and I can't afford to buy a new one, so I need to know it'll be fine if I leave it alone.

Here's a photo of the screen.

As a rule of thumb in electronics, but elsewhere too, when things start getting bad they will usually get worse with time if not taken care until they will eventually break for good. However, if you don’t have the means to repair it why bother ? Enjoy it until it lasts, maybe by the time it gets unusable you’ll find the money to fix it.
