Kitchenaid Refrigerator Touchpad not responding, both sections warm

Kitchenaid Model Number KBRA22ERSS01

Freezer/Fridge both warm, powers on, touchpad shows temps of both compartments, but none of the buttons respond. Warm warning light flashing of course, and steady beep for temp alarm.

Feels like compressor is on, but not very loud at all.

According to manual, I should be able to change temps after plugging it in by pressing the + or - of either side but none of the buttons seem to work.

Most of the time, the culprit in the case of both frig and freezer not cooling sufficiently (with your model) will be the “compressor start device and capacitor”. This part runs between $45-$60, depending on where you get it, and you probably should get someone qualified to handle the replacement.

Also, according to what I’ve read on the non-responsive touch pad issue, as odd as it may sound, it appears replacing the water filter (located upper right, at the back, inside the frig compartment) is the most common fix. But be aware this could also be an issue with the control board. Again, you may want to have someone qualified to help make this determination.
