I have no idea what is wrong after replacing the power board and main board.

Where does the board that the power button connects to plug in to? If it is the power board directly, great. If it goes somewhere else (like main board) this will work too but it becomes harder to pinpoint the problem.
Anyway, what I do on this issue is, as much as possible, try to unplug all boards from the main except the “power button board" (and to make sure that the standby/on LED is plugged in too). If the TV turns on, good. Turn it back off, plug another board into the power (as much as you can one at a time). For example, if it is set up power > main > others plugged into main, then plug main into power and unplug everything from main. If it turns on, main is good and something else is bad. Keep going as much as you can until the TV stops turning on.
If you have a multimeter and know what voltages parts should be reading, it is easier to 100% say what a problem is, but for new techs the above is what I tell people to do (it is easier to show than to type out so sorry if it is confusing).

This tv doesn’t have a power button, only an ir receiver. Could the the receiver be bad?

No I don't think the receiver is bad (due to the standby light blinking). In that case, do what I said before but make sure that the board that the IR receiver is on stays plugged into the power board.

dfiala4928@sbcglobal.net what model is your TV? Have you tried to disconnect the main board from the power board and then turned on the TV/ did your backlight come on (visible through the back of the LCD panel) when you did this?
