Screen says paper jam, but there isn't! So cannot feed documents. Can
print single pages on flatbed. Please help. thanks. Paul

The above link is to the user’s manual of your printer.
First, I would follow the steps on page 159 to clear the paper jams. Follow the instructions for clearing the jams both inside the printer (page 159) and in the automatic document feeder (page 160). This is just to make sure all document paths are clear.
If clearing the jams does not work, try unplugging the printer for 30 minutes to see if this resets the jam indication. If this doesn’t work, try resetting to manufacturer’s defaults (page 39).

I have had this error appear over and over again and have run through the on/off and plug and unplug without success literally a 100 times or more until I accidently solved the problem:
I NOW OPEN THE AUTOMATIC FEEDER LID AND PLACE THREE SHHETS OVER THE CENTER TAB SO IT CANNOT FEED ONTO THE FEEDER. I THEN CLOSED THE LID ON THE AUTOMATICC FEEDER AND PRESS THE “OK”……..THE ERROR MESSAGE STILL APPEARS AND THE GEARS TURN. THEN I REOPEN AND REMOVE THE THREE “JAMMED SHEETS” AND THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED.

Awesome...worked right away; thanks for posting this solution.
Did not work. On my side I suspect a dirty roller in the paper feed section.

Thanks a lot. It still jams on 2-sided copying but I can live with that.
