How to know if I screwed too tight on the home button
My home button is like a tiny bit under the glass and what I can remember 2nd gen home button were supposed to be flat as the bezel?

If its working u didn't screw too tight u may be missing the rubber gasket around the button or the glass on the screen u have may just be a fraction thicker than the original.
It might also be not aligned properly where it might stick up a bit on one side and lower on another side…

It has the rubber gasket and yes the screen is original because it has apple logos on the cables but are the home button supposed to be as flat as the bezel?(idk if its correct since I havent went to the apple store yet lol) by what i mean tiny bit i mean like very very very very tiny..
To adjust the height of the home button you may need to bend the metal bracket a bit that has the 4 screws going into it.
Otherwise I would put a screen protector on and call it a day.
