Doorbell Wiring - Door Contacts

I am trying to set up a door open bell using Honeywell products. The company is offering no support so I though someone here might have some ideas.

Honeywell’s wired to wireless adapter -

The RPWL3045A  Converter has been replaced with the RPWL4045A2000 Wireless Doorbell Adapter. As far as I know they have the same function but the wiring connection are different.

The old model (RPWL3045A) shows how to connect door contacts but the new model only shows how to connect push buttons and a transformer (see photos).

The names/numbers and position of the connection are different but does anyone know how the door contacts should be connected to the new model (RPWL4045A2000)?

In addition to what I wrote above, I also need some kind of time delay that keeps intermittently pushing the doorbell button (Push/Delay/Push) because even if the button is held down the bell only rings once until released and pushed again). Once my door is opened, I need the bell to continuously ring until it is closed. To solve this problem and also reverse the NC to NO problem you mentioned, I think this product might solve everything - https://www.mpja.com/download/35238mpdat...

My infrared door sensor NC would send DC 24V 3A to the 35238-MP which would convert to NO and apply a Push/Delay/Push program that keeps repeating until the door is closed. The 35238-MP would connect to my new model RPWL4045A2000 A1/A2 (like a single doorbell button would).

I'm not 100% sure what voltage will be sent from the 35238-MP to RPWL4045A2000 but provide it is no more than 24V it will be ok.

A door contact is a normally closed switch, so a chime will be created when the door is open (i.e. opening the circuit). This is in contrast to a push contact door bell which is normally open, and will chime when the button is pushed (i.e closing the circuit).

So on the old model (RPWL3045A) you wire a door contact to pins 4 and 5, which chimes when the circuit is open, and you wire a push contact to pins 1 and 2, which chimes when the circuit is closed.

However, the new model (RPWL4045A2000) only has circuits for push contacts, which will chime when the circuit closes. While it does have contacts for two different push contacts (A1/A2 and B1/B2), it does not have pins that allow for a normally closed switch that chimes when the circuit is open like when a door contact is opened.

Ultimately, the old and new model do not have the same functions, as the old model has both a normally open and a normally closed circuit, while the new model only has a normally open circuit.

In other words, if you wire your door contact to the A1/A2 or B1/B2 pins, then it will chime when the door is closed and only turn off when the door is opened. The only way to get the new model to function as you want is to convert the normally closed switch of the door contact to be normally open. The typical way to do this is to use an NC relay to invert the NC door switch.

From what I understand the 35238-MP needs continuous power in (not sure how many Volts) to run the timer/program/etc. and then also Trigger power going in from the door sensor (DC 24V 3A) to send to the output Contact (NO COM NC) which feeds the RPWL4045A2000 A1/A2 (again, I don't know what Voltage is being sent).

All very confusing (but interesting) for a novice like me.

Do you think it will work?
