Corrosion on one of display ports, help fix?

I have removed and tested a screen to see if it was a faulty screen or something more. The screen worked and the phone turned on. So I powered the device off disconnected everything and placed a new screen on. However this time around it did not turn on and there were some nasty fumes but no smoke. I disconnected everything again and I noticed a white chalky compound on one of the connectors . I have provided a photo aswell but not that good quality sorry.

Is this possible to just fix with alcohol or is there something more serious

Alcohol may help you removing dirt or liquid contaminants residues but it’s not effective when it comes to burned components and if you smelled some nasty fumes it’s quite likely you have shorted components there. From the looks of it you might have a liquid damaged board, but not sure as the level of detail of the pic isn’t sufficient to tell for sure. You would probably need a logic board repair to get the iPhone back in shape.

Yeah so, I cleaned the board with alcohol and once I booted it back up I found out the backlight burned as I wasn't getting any backlight. Will be looking for someone locally to microsolder it back for me :/ %#*@

That's the best you can do..hope it's just a filter as a full backlight circuit rebuild can be done but often it's an headache..

Found someone locally charges £40 for filter and £60 for backlight circuit rebuild. Hope it's only a filter
