Rage Ohmboy batteries are unbalanced

Hey there! I've got a Rage Ohmboy squonker that's giving me "unbalanced batteries" issues, I've tried a brand new set of batteries and a older married pair so I reckon it's the mod. Anyone had similar issues and managed to get it sorted?
