Touchscreen not working even after replacement

I have a water damaged 6s+ which worked mostly fine after taking everything apart and cleaning it. Charging was very slow and it sometimes crashed but everything else worked. I thought maybe a bit of water was left and I took it apart again and dumped it in isopropyl. Then I changed the battery to an older original one and reinstalled iOS. The problems are now fixed but the touchscreen isn’t working anymore (worked before the second taking apart). Even with a refurbished screen replacement it still doesn’t work. There is no visible damage anywhere on the board that I can find and I checked the screw holes, I definitely didn’t use any wrong size screws.

I have no idea why the touchscreen doesn’t work. Any advise? I guess I have to return all parts and sell it as damaged if I can’t figure this out :c

EDIT

Looks fine to me. Here are some pictures

Screen issues with the iPhone 6S series are almost always screen related…except in this case you have a water damaged device. Water damaged devices tend to be unstable and they will develop all kinds of secondary issues. That’s why most micro-soldering shops won’t fix them for the sake of the phone.

Try a known-good screen or conversely, put your screen in a known-good device to see if the fault follows the screen or logic board. There could be an issue with the touch/lcd related power IC (Chestnut) which may be repairable if the corrosion is limited. But if that circuit looks good then you have to consider calling it quits before this device sucks all of your time and energy out. Personally, I find the 6S series water damaged devices to be the most challenging.

I have two screens here right now, both with the same problem. It only started after my second taking apart. I can't see anything wrong with the board itself but I guess I damaged something when taking it apart? Or there is still water under the shielding which seems unlikely. Just to be sure I will let it dry for a day...

The iPhone itself seems to be fine now. Charges perfectly and it doesn't seem to crash anymore. There really wasn't THAT much water in there anyway. My mum dropped it in the toilet... took it apart the same day. I can't see any corrosion anywhere.

edit: added pictures in a comment

The corrosion is usually under the shields...

@refectio Is there anything that would only break touch input and not the whole display output?

it sounds like the problem is located on the LCD connector, maybe you’ve broken a pin or it oxidized, try to look carefully the connector's pins and nearby, maybe you find the origin of the problem.
