Playing received SMS videos

Have you checked that the mobile data setting is enabled?

You don’t state the model of your phone but here’s the procedure for most Alcatel phones.

From the Home screen, tap the Menu key. Tap Settings. Under Wireless and Networks tap More..., Tap Mobile networks. Tap the Data enabled switch to ON.

Also check if the messaging auto retrieve setting is enabled go to the Messaging app, (without opening any thread), tap on the menu key and go to Settings. Scroll down to Multimedia message (MMS) Settings section and turn on "Auto-retrieve".

Is it only the one video or all videos sent this way?

If it is the only one, it may be in a format the the phone doesn’t support.

Try installing a media player - example only and see if it will play when using it.
