Any chance of fixing a galaxy s3 hard brick in 2019 or is that hopeles

My galaxy s2 bricked sometime in 2015 after attempting to transfer files to my computer utilizing a faulty usb cable. Halfway through the transfer the cable was moved and the phone shut off. It seemed like the firmware became corrupted cause it didn’t boot up after that. Anyway i tried researching a fix and amassed quite a collection of verizon galaxy s3 firmwares and tools to help flash my firmware but nothing worked. After trying for months it just seemed i didn’t have the knowledge about how android works or what a kernel is things like that.
