Blank screen, no boot after hard-drive wipe?

I will try to provide as much detail as possible please ask if you need additional:

Was running OS High Sierra on early 2014 MacBook air

The computer was working 100% fine before I formatted the hard-drive

It has never experienced falls, hits, or water damage

Battery and charger components are fine and working accordingly

Originally the screen displayed the folder with a “?” but I did not have a bootable USB set up yet so I shut it down

After restarting the mac the screen is just a blank blueish-purpleish color

with:

  • Keyboard backlight - Off
  • Display backlight - On
  • Apple logo on back of Mac - On
  • Fan spinning at normal speed
  • Does not get overly hot if left on
  • No peripherals connected

Things I’ve already tried:

  • Every possible key combination during and before the boot phase
  • (The only keys that do anything at all are the power button held down and the SMC reset, which fixes nothing)
  • Booting without battery connected and on charger
  • Booting without SSD connected

Any advice would be appreciated, the nearest apple store is over 2 hours from me and if it is hardware related I cannot afford to replace it at the moment.

Don’t think this will help but will include anyway:

Let’s disconnect the MagSafe & battery. Press the power button a good minute. Putting the system on its side with the MagSafe up, Now plug in the MagSafe and press the Option (⌥) key are you getting to the Startup Manager screen?

@danj No luck, I also just tried with the battery plugged in just in case.

Ouch! Somehow the logic board got damaged.

@danj I thought the issue may be more serious but do you think it's a bit strange that the logic board would go the same time I wiped my SSD? This all happened within the hours

Did you unplug the battery before taking the SSD out?
