Half screen does not respond to changes of brightness settings

Hey, I have a MacBook Air 13 inch 2015 model having a display issue, half of my screen is apparently defaulted at maximum brightness and not responding to the brightness settings, and the other right half functions normally when i change the brightness. And also, it has this weird grey spots at the bottom of the faulty side of the screen.

To me, it seems more like a logic board issue than the display going bad, but I’m unsure. I might have overworked the drive as i did partitioning for bootcamp twice, as i did not allocate sufficient space at my first try. It happened right when i was trying to install an intel program, Quartus, in my windows boot camp, I wasn’t aware that it was overheating badly and the power was at a very low level, 13%. The left part of the screen started flickering and i forced shut the MacBook.  Then when I restarted it, the starting windows blinked a few times and couldn’t appear, then after a few repeats of restarting, i manage to log back into my macOs drive partition (as i was using the windows Bootcamp earlier), then it started making these weird soft squealing noise at the top right side of the keyboard for about an hour before it stopped. I wiped clean the hard drive, hoping it could have restored the brightness settings on the faulty side of the screen, since resetting SMC and PRAM did not work for me.

I am hoping that the LCD cables are loose instead of having to replace the entire screen. Is it possible that some part of the logic board relating to the display is burnt out due to the overheating? I did not apply for apple care and the local technicians around my area charge a very high price. Any advice or past experience is really much appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!

btw, i found a forum similar to my issue but i would like to have more advice on it before taking it apart. Link: Display issues, darker on one side of the screen

*edit/update* here are the insides, it seems fine on the side with issue (left) and a little dirty on the right side. Apologies ahead as i am unfamiliar with the parts.

You’l need to pop off the bottom cover and do some checking around the displays LVDS connector. I’m suspecting you have some liquid damage around it. Take some tight shots of the damage so we can see 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기

Update (08/18/2019)

Well you do have liquid damage around the LVDS cable which is green and white stuff around the capacitors and on the connector its self.

This is going to need some work to clean up and I'm suspecting the connector will need replacement.

i have purchased the tools online and it’ll take a few days for it to arrive. If that is the case, do i have to replace any parts due to liquid damage?

You'll need to wait until you can see what's damaged.

Hey kind soul! i have attached the images in the edit. Can you help me take a look? i don’t see which part went wrong. Sorry for the long delay. if more images are needed please do tell me so

@magiano I believe there isn't much to add to @danj previous answer, you have clear signs of liquid damage around and in my opinion also inside the screen connector (the one you marked [right: side with no display issue]) that most probably needs to be replaced. Some rails/components may need repair too. Right tools and skills are needed, not a typical DIY repair. Check if screen side connector is fine and in case try replace the logic board or find a lab doing component level repairs.

Ahh thanks for the reply! I’ll send it over for repairs since whole replacements are needed
