Dead MacBook, defect Logic Board and I/O Board?
Hey,
So… One year ago i tried to plug in an external 3,5 harddrive (AC powered) per USB. My macbook crashed, I restarted it and tried it again. It crashed again and stayed dead since than. I asked Apple to repair it, they said the Logic Board and the I/O Board have to be replaced (for 980€) and that they cant guarantee it will work after the replacement. I ddid not accept and took i back home. Now I have the time to look at it myself. It is completely dead.
I tried:
-SMC reset
-vram Reset
-disconnecting the battery and connecting it again
Nothing worked. When I plug in its power cord, it lights green for a few seconds and than switches to orange.
Is there anything I can try, expect replacing these components by myself? Also: Are Apples reports trustworthy? Can i check these parts for defects myself?
edit:
added pictures of the logic board
- Edit: added pictures of I/O board and uploaded close ups of logicboard
