Reasons why iPhone 6 that connects to iTunes has black screen?
Hey guys, I recently recieved a battle-scarred iPhone 6 from a friend, who told me that if I could fix it, it's mine. Well, as the title says, the phone connects to iTunes, yet I still have a black screen. I immediately went for a screen replacement. I connected the digitizer and data ribbon cables, yet no cigar. I'm back at square one. The display is a working display. Is there anything else that could cause this? The phone works, but I wonder what could be causing the blank screen. The phone was able to boot into recovery mode, and also DFU mode, both of which my computer detected. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I should add that the rear camera's ribbon cables is not in good condition, and the home button's ribbon cable is gone.

It's possible it could be an issue with backlight

Cody is right. Shine a torch on the screen and see if you have image or split the screen that was originally on it and check for backlight.

Thanks for the replies. I used my phone's flashlight on my iPhone 6 and saw no backlight. I read online to disconnect the battery and hold the power button, so I'll try that next. Will report back.

Have you got image? Can you see the apple logo with the torch when booting? You need to determine if you have image before worrying about backlight.
