Hi @ lindaanelson30,
You can replace the USB charge port.
Here’s a link to the SM-T380 USB connector part (supplier shown is example only to show what it looks like and cost of part). There are other suppliers of the connector that may suit you better. Just search for Galaxy SM-T380 USB connector part to get results.
You will also need to have the requisite SMD soldering skills and tools to do the repair. Check on YouTube how to do SMD soldering.
If you do decide to repair it this way unless you have previous SMD soldering experience, practice first on an old damaged pcb board before you try it on your tablet as it is not an easy task for a novice repairer ;-)
If this seems too daunting, you could just replace the charge port board (supplier shown is example only to show what it looks like and cost of part). There are other suppliers of the board that may suit you better. Just search for Galaxy SM-T380 charge port board to get results.
Here are some links that may be of some help with the repair, either to replace the USB connector or the board.

Good luck with the repair.

Could you please verify the exact model number of the tablet?
i was trying to find out if it was possible to update the firmware in the tablet to bring it more up to date but it is not listed here or anywhere else that I checked.
