Black screen with white apple and 20 white vertical bars on wake-up
Hi ~ After my mid-2012 MacBook Pro is woke up after being unused for about a half a day or so, it shows a black screen with the regular white apple, plus a row of about 20 rounded white bars below. This stays on for about 20 seconds, then all works fine after that.
What does this indicate, please?
Thanks much in advance!

Well, that's a lot different than what I expected!
It appears the startup bar is broken into segments! Instead of a smooth bar as the different phases of the boot up process completes.

Which 2012 model do you have the older unibody or the newer retina version?

It calls itself "MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)." It's the older, non-retina model. This only happens when I'm awakening it from sleep, not when doing a full reboot.
Yesterday I zapped the PRAM, as I've heard that may help. So far, so good...
