I have an Imac 24" 3.06 2008 and not sure is the video card is failing or the LCD screen
When I turn it on, the screen is grey and it flaking black on the right hard side.
When I boot in safe mode, the picture comes up and the black flake on the right hand side
I had swap with the video card, same problem
Do anyone know where I can get them repaired?
i had the video card fix and worked perfectly

Plug it into an external monitor to isolate the problem. If the external is OK, the processor (GPU) is good.

hooked it up to an external monitor, same thing
This would indicate the video card.

Before I replace the video card: when I turn on imac, the apple logo comes up. Then the screen goes to orange, then pink.
Also i thinking about getting the video card fixed

I connected an external hard drive and popped in snow leopard, turn it on and hold down shift.
both icon comes up and I picked the snow leopard.
the apple logo comes on and that wheel is turning.
then the screen goes, orange then pink and finial a light blue screen with horizontal lines comes
Sometime a blue clear screen comes on
I don't think there anything wrong with the video card
Could be the inverter??
I am going to check the connections on the LCD to see if there anything loose
