New SSD / RAM / Battery on early 2013 MacBook Pro 15''
Hello everyone,
I am Pietro, an Italian student based in London. I am new to the forum, I registered to ask for some suggestions on how to boost the performances of my 6 years old Macbook Pro.
I have a
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013, 256gb)
- Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
- Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
- Serial Number: C02LJ1X2FFT0
I have tried to clean it from the cache, reduce the files, applications, etc but the performances of the notebook are still poor: for instance, I can't open TripAdvisor's webpages because "they use a significant amount of memory" as Safari tells me.
A friend of mine bought from Amazon for 70€ and installed himself a new SSD on his 2011 Macbook and told me that the notebook's performances are basically as if it was new. I am therefore considering doing the same thing: changing the SSD with a new one and possibly also changing the RAM and the Battery (which has significantly deteriorated with use and now has a very short autonomy.
I am wondering which intervention would be more effective to improve the performances: new RAM or new SSD? And what capabilities of the new RAM and SSD should I take into consideration?
Thank you in advance to all that will help me.
Pietro
