iPhone 6 - connect to itunes - stops at the very end

My iphone 6 is on the connect to itunes screen. If I connect to itunes and try to recover or update the iphone at the very end (when it is done) it suddently stops, powers off and then I see the connect to itunes screen again. How can I fix this issue?

Btw my dock connector is not in place but works perfectly fine and the antenna is not connected, could this be the issue?
