Replacement screen not flush with bezel; home button doesn’t work
Followed instructions for replacement—all appears to have gone well, except home button doesn’t click, Touch ID doesn’t work, and screen still sticks out pretty far from bezel compared to original screen. Is this typical for the IFixIt screen? Do I need to apply more force to get screen to seat properly?
If I apply a lot of force to the bottom, near home button, the bottom of the screen shows a variety of colors, as though it’s knocking something internally
Note that Touch ID doesn’t work either—I get the error message as soon as the phone boots up.
I’ve redone the screen replacement process multiple times, to ensure problem was replicable. Thanks for help.

I just switched out the cracked OEM screen, and touch ID/home button started working again, although now home button is hyper sensitive--I will have to return this screen and send the phone in to Apple, due to Covid19.
