Thanks for the video! It's a great way to demonstrate a problem.

There are 4 possibilities: Your AC adapter, the DC-in, the logic board, and the battery connector. You've stated that the AC works on other machines, and that you've tried other ACs on this machine with the same result, so it sounds safe enough to say the AC is not the problem.

First, I would pop the topcase off, and see if there is any visible corrosion, and if there is, clean it off with q-tips and 91% rubbing alcohol. Next, I would re-seat the DC-in connector, and also the battery connector. The battery connector needs to be seated pretty deep, so give it an extra push downward. Who knows, it's possible the battery connector is just a little loose. If that doesn't help, I'd replace both the DC-in and battery connector. They are both cheap parts, and you can probably get them both on eBay for $20 shipped total. A1181 DC-ins rarely go bad, so it's really the battery connector that we're hoping will fix it. Make sure to order the correct one -- if it has a gap in the pins, that is "Energy Star", and if it doesn't, that is "non-Energy Star".

Hopefully the battery connector will take care of it, but if the part replacements don't do it, it's likely the board. You could always take the board out and scrub it down with rubbing alcohol. Actually, before doing that I would try a couple more battery connectors from a different source, because at least half of the ones out there have not been tested, and I regularly get "tested" parts that are bad. Laptop Aid is a great source of cheap parts on eBay, and of course iFixit is the best, albeit usually more expensive.

Also, it's a little tricky, but you can connect the battery, power on, and test charging with the topcase loose. There's no point in putting the machine all the way back together until you know it's charging again, and it'll save you time to keep it open.

Anyway, good luck!

John

Thanks for the help I appreciate it. I have rubbed the board with alcohol already because there was corrosion plus, I have done all but replace the battery or magsafe jack. The batter powers it on with or without the plug. But if I have the jack plugged in by it's self, The macbook will refuse to start up. So in that case I have narrowed it down the the magsafe board or the logic board. Lets just hope it's the magsafe board. Because the Logic board is a pretty penny.

Thanks! Ya know what, I don't know what I was thinking, but the battery connector is probably not the issue considering you were not getting a light on the AC. Somehow I was forgetting that you were getting no light, in which case I think you're right -- either the board or the DC-in, and hopefully it's the DC-in!

Thanks, I appreciate your time and effort toward helping me!
