I'm trying to reset my nook and it won't connect to the internet

I'm using a nook (just the regular black and white, non-backlit base model) and even though I successfully connected to wifi in the settings and it says "connected" it wont let me reset my device. When I go to "erase & deregister device" and try to reset it it gives me a network error saying that im not connected to the network. To clarify, everything else on my wifi works perfectly fine and I've tried restarting the device and forgetting the connection, all of the basic stuff.

Before I can answer, I want to ask, what is the version number of the firmware that's installed? If it's 1.2.2, I could continue to provide an answer.

Hi, I hope somehow you see this! I'm having the same issue, the firmware is 1.2.1

Hi naiaratta,

You must update your Nook BNRV300 to firmware 1.2.2 before it will connect to the internet.

Please see my answer on this page for more info: I'm trying to reset my nook and it won't connect to the internet

@nwantz unfortunately when I connect my nook to my laptop (a non-apple device, running windows 11) it doesnt show up in my file finder

@naiaratta With microUSB cables, some of them are "charge only", which will not allow the computer to see the Nook as a file system. Do you have any other microUSB cables you can try to connect the Nook to the computer with?
