MacBook won’t turn on After years without Software

I have a 2009 MacBook Air that I have had sit for at least 2 years. I have decided to come back to it and it won’t start. There is no software on it so I loaded a USB flash drive with Mac OS. When I attempted to boot it while holding the the option key all I got was the Fan running and the light at the front turning on.

After that I tried to inspect it to see what the problem may be I didn’t find anything that looked out of the ordinary. I did notice that the back lights on the keyboard are not on and the Caps lock key doesn’t have its light on.

I tried Resetting the PRAM and the SMC and it did nothing to the laptop. I can’t get it to do anything but start the fans and put that front light on. It would be much appreciated if someone could help me.

Time to open the system up to inspect things. Do you see any damage or staining?

Lets’ try disconnecting the battery, press the power button with nothing plugged in, then reconnect the MagSafe charger the system should spontaneously boot up. Did it?

I fear the logic board has issues and being unused for so long the battery will also need to be replaced.

The parts costs are adding up here to a point its a tossup if the system is worth it.

This is an older system which won't run the newer OS or apps. Using it on the Internet will also be risky as the highest OS this system is able to use is OS-X El Capitan 10.11.x Apple no longer offers security updates for it.
