Kenmore elite He3 t washer Won't start.

Kenmore Elite he3t washing machine the lights come on you select the cycle press and hold the start button and nothing happens.

I have unplugged it for 5 minutes, checked the water supply hoses, got and the diagnostic page out from underneath the machine. While I was in there I cleaned out the pump filter. Checked all the wires, spun the drum by hand and saw that the motor was turning. What is supposed to happen when I hold and press the button am I supposed to hear the lock lock on the door and water fill and what would prevent that from happening? What would prevent the diagnostic test light from starting when I go through the Simple Guide to turning it on that I found in my piece of paper underneath the machine?

Also trying to use the diagnostic code it's not possible because when I try to turn the diagnostic display on by following the simple steps. I have found no matter how many times and how many ways I try the code setting doesn't start it stays at 0:02minutes on the display.
