Why cooling fan runs and engine won't start?

My car was running normally then switched off the engine for a few hours, came back and while trying to start again, cooling fan runs, no crank and engine won't start.

All dashboard lights on after single click on start button while pushing breaks (cooling fan runs), which is really weird coz engine is not hot. Another press on start button, everything goes off.

I recently changed radiator and spark plugs + 2 ignition coil.

Any idea what could be the reason and how i can fix it?

Help....I am having this same issue. What did you do to fix it?

In my skoda fabia it was immobiliser. I just had to disconnect accu (battery) for 1 minute, then reconnect and engine started:)

It may well be that the fault with the cooling fans has drained the battery too much, when it tries to start the battery voltage collapses and the electronics give up. Try charging the battery or use a booster pack to get it started, you can then drive it somewhere to get the cooling fan problem fixed - this may well need to be a main dealer with the right diagnostics equipment.

Try to change coolant temperature sensors.the sensor send wrong information to ecu.when ecu located engine temperature high,ecu send signal to cooling fan for running.and when engine hot it not start

Mine did the same and it was the engine control fuse. It's in the fuse box under the

This usually an indication you have a shot BCM.

I’m have this problem now . The guy look at it he put a used relay on my van and now the same thing is happening. I’m going to buy a new relay and get the battery charged and see what happens.

It might be immobiliser. I disconnected battery for 1 min, reconnected it and the car started

You might have a ghost in that cat!!!loli had battery and alternater checked out and they are good. Relay is what I’m thinking.
