Hi, my brothers Samsung A40 stopped charging yesterday following him dropping it, resulting in the phone being bent. The phone is now completely dead and he has a replacement in the mail. However, he doesn’t want to lose all of his images and contacts. Any suggestions?

You have problem with:
# Charging dock (Charging port or FPC connector) - needs replacement.
# Main flex cable - needs replacement.
# FPC connector on the motherboard - needs repair from technician.

He can open it up and check the connections for the battery and the charging port, a connection could have been knocked loose. He could also connect a battery to the phone and extract the data or take the battery out and charge it with a battery charger you can pick up on Amazon for 20 dollars
do you have to return the phone? If so will you get in trouble if you open the phone? You can have a repair shop take the back cover off and charge the battery and get the data.
