What is happening? Missing video and anything else

Hello everyone, this is my first time using this as a platform so have mercy.

I have a 2011 13” Macbook Pro with Board Number 820 2936- B (On the DC IN Board its “820 2565 - A and “Apple 2009” so i guess that is wrong). I checked PP3V42_G3H and that is present, PPVCORE is 0.9 Volts. What happens is when i plug in the magsafe charger the light turns green (so one wire circuit must work somehow) but no video even on external Monitor and the fan starts to spin slowly until on 100%. What can i do?

Does it chime? Is there any USB activity? Have you tried removing the RAM and trying just one in alternative slots? Does it beep with no RAM?

There is no chime or beep with or without RAM. How can i measure USB activity?

Sadly, this sounds like a failed CPU and/or PCH. This series uses a direct memory architecture from the CPU to the RAM slots and it uses the PCH to gain access to the other services of the system like the audio logic for the speaker.

Well there was USB activity. I measured PP5V_S5 and it is shorted to ground. I saw corrosion at the SMC so i can maybe replace it. Is it that easy or does it have firmware?

The SMC chip does have microcode so you need to get one off of another MacBook Pro of the same series.

SMC does not deal with POST or any of the I/O data services. Measuring voltage at the USB port is just that the power output for USB devices its not data! You would need a storage oscilloscope to capture the data to then play it back so you could visually see it. Troubleshooting USB 2.0 Problems with Your Oscilloscope

That DC-in part was used for several years. So it being marked 2009 is just fine.
