Why is there a single black vertical bar on the left side of the screen and can I fix it?

typically, a single black, vertical bar, is indicative of a source drive failure. sometimes, it could be just the connection at the ribbons running from your tcon board to your displays buffer boards. you can try to reseat these connections and clean the contacts to see if it clears. (typically does not) if it doesnt, your display is failing. please post some pics of what your seeing so we can determine with more accuracy.
