Why does my second speaker drop out or crackle when in party up mode?

I have 2 UE Megaboom speakers, I use the app to get them to play together in party up mode, but sometimes the second one dropps out or crackles. I have tried resetting them both, disconnecting them from my phone and reconnecting getting other electronics out of the way that might interfere. Does anyone know how to solve this?

I have 4 boom 3 and they keep disconnecting when in party up mode. I tried connecting 1 on Bluetooth and use the others on the app, also connecting all 4 on Bluetooth but same result?

Also experiencing the same. Was hoping to get surround sound in my house. Very disappointed.

This is starting to happen to me as well. When I try to party up with my Boom 2.

I loaned my Megaboom 3 to my daughter and it happened when she paired it up with hers as well.

Sadly, I believe the second one is blown.

I thought this as well but i tried connecting to that speaker and connecting the first, now its that one crackling and dropping out, or could this still be that speaker?

Maybe a problem with the Apps party mode?

I have this issue with my Megaboom and my Megaboom 3 are in Partymode. They work fine single, but if I use them in stereo, my older Megaboom will be drop for half a second randomly through playback. I’ve noticed sometimes if I bring them closer, it might happen less or if I pair to the Megaboom 3 and the Megaboom is the add on it’s alright.

Maybe if I unpair the Megaboom, only pair the 3 when it’s on and partyup the Megaboom.

Same issue, they skip and crackle when too far apart…got the 2nd to have “whole house music” but sorta defeats when they have to be 15ft to each other.

So I've been frustrated with the same issue and was ready to sell them. Using an iPhone12 I found that I must use the Boom app to power on both speakers for the best results. Do not use the physical buttons. Of course, they need to be connected to your phone as a bluetooth device before these steps work.

So the steps I found that work for me are:
- Load the Boom app, wait 5-10 seconds

- Tap on 1 of the speakers and power it up and be patient, wait for it to completely power on and do its start up routine. It could take almost a minute or more.
- Then switch to the 2nd speaker in the app, wait ~15 seconds (Otherwise the device will not be found), and power it on from the app. Same as before, wait roughly 1 minute for it to power on and do the start up routine.
- Then try to Party Up .
This almost always works for me.
What sucks is if someone brings their boom speaker to my place, I don't think I could safely add their speaker to the party up like I used to before.
Don't forget to jump on one foot and pray to the Boom gods while you are doing all the steps Hehehe. :-)

Yep, I’ve noticed the exact same issue today. Thought the second speaker was blown but then I reversed the sequence of adding them to party up mode and now the other speaker got the same issues. UE need to work on their software I guess. PS: try to run a 60hz bass test track from Spotify or similar. You will hear the second speaker “popping” at this frequency. It happened to both of mine. One megaboom and one megaboom 3
