trying to overclock but it either wouldnt turn on or unresponsive

so i pulled up pins 112 and 116 and wired them to a dpdt switch w/led and then back onto a cap in the usual way, however whenever i would turn it on it the red led on the front of the console would turn on but otherwise it would be unresponsive, so i removed the dpdt switch and put those two wires together, same thing. switched to a different cap and now the led light wont even turn on?
