Audio IC problem - replacing chip

Hello, I just fount out that my iPhone 7 has this issue. It was working for a while after pressing hard on the chip, etc. but eventually stopped working completely.

Short version: Can I replace the chip completely with new one without making my iPhone totally non-functional, or do I have to do thing with jumpers/reballing.

I found out that you have to do this jumper thing I watched many videos and every is different (probably because it depends on where exactly on that chip the problem is) however I also found browsing aliexpress this chip here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/40005195...

So my question is, what is it for? Is it possible just to swap this audio chip for new one, or do I have to do that thing with jumper depending on where the problem on the chip is? Would the iPhone work with different chip than it was shipped with?

I have microscope, I was changing some chips before, but never on mobile phone.

Thanks for legit answers!

The audio IC is not the problem it is the trace gong from the pad on the board to the resistor. This trace separates from the pad due to flexing. It is safer to re-ball the IC as the solder on the new chips takes a lot more heat to melt and can cause the dreaded “Searching no service” which will require the baseband CPU to be removed and re-balled.

If you are not confident in running the trace you could try and just re-flow the chip with some good flux. The heat might give you continuity for a month or so.
