Went through a full wash and partly through the dryer, Help!

Ok so long story short, my moms phone went through a full wash cycle and then was partly through a dryer cycle, I say partly since when I couldn’t find it for her I realized that the banging in the dryer was probably the phone. It was in my moms pants pocket and we weren’t able to get it turned on, this was many months ago and we’re just wondering if there would be any way to get it up and running again to retrieve some precious data. Thanks in advance!

Since this happened a long time ago it wouldn’t hurt replacing the battery and screen to see if it will boot. If it does boot I would back up the data immediately. If it doesn’t boot you will need to send it to a reputable repairer so they can get the data for you.

I actually removed the battery to practice replacing my SEs battery so thats step one done! Her screen though is in pretty good condition unless you mean the internals, which I'll need to look further into.
