Touchpad causing Dualshock 4 to not charge.

So I have a Dualshock 4 JDM-030 that just randomly stopped charging.

Did some troubleshooting, swapping out the battery, testing the charging port assembly with a multimeter and in the end found that the touchpad is causing the issue.

When the touchpad is plugged in there is no activity from the LED when charging from the PS4, still can’t function and on Windows it detects a wireless controller but can’t function.

However once the touchpad has been removed, the controller is able to take a charge again.Swapped out the touchpad ribbon cable with one that I know works, same issue and I can’t see any obvious signs of damage to the touchpad circuit.

Guessing this will be a straight up touchpad replacement unless there is something else I can try?
