Hello,
A quick question, and then a few things to try:
1) Does your screen sit flush with the phone? All the way around?
2) Take the top metal plate off the connectors, use your old screen and simply connect the two connectors. Do not install it, just use your board to boot up the LCD. Does it still rainbow when pressed?
3) Remove all screws from the left side of the logic board, including the battery screw. Your main board will stay in place by your sim card. Do you still get the rainbow?
4) boot you phone up without the back plate on, same issue?
Possible solutions:
1) If the above things do not fix the issue, I'd look at your battery and insure it is not bent or warped from being removed.
2) The battery has that little metal protector for the dock antenna connector. You are putting this below the actual battery connector, correct?
3) Take out your main board and screen, does the frame look straight?
4) Upload me pictures of the back of your phone with the cover off. I would like to see how you have it installed.
Hope something in this post helps,

have you taken it apart again and made sure nothing got left behind between the LCD and the frame of the phone? Does it seem limited to a certain area or does it happen all over the LCD?

Thanks for the replies. As for there being anything behind the LCD I don't think it would be that as I didn't take the LCD off and for some phones that I have taken them off I make sure that it is very clean. The option from removing the battery is possible but I don't think I put any pressure on the mid frame. Basically pull on the battery removal tab at the same time as helping it along with an iPod opening tool. I gently put the lip of the tool under the battery and leverage it up on the logic board. It varies from phone to phone. No two phones have the pressure points in the same spot. I usually snug up the screws pretty tight when reassembling the phone. Do you think it might be related to that? I'm kinda stumped as to what might be causing it.

Sorry it took awhile to get back to you. I did't have enough free time lately to rip apart my phone. I ruled out the 3 suggestions from XicoSolutions. Also it even happens on my iPhone that still has the original glass and digitizer. I'm still confused as to what is causing the issue. I'm also interested to know if there is anyone else out there that has run into the same issue.
