I'm experiencing Vertical flickering lines. And according to my research its a Tcon board issue.
I’m just planning to buy an external monitor for an alternative. Is it a good idea? Or it will just be useless because external monitors will be affected by the tcon issue aswell?
whats the function of tcon board by the way?

The T-CON board is part of the display, it converts the signal into what the LCD panel needs to create the image. Each display will have its own T-CON board. So the internal display’s is independent to your external display!
So the bottomline here is if you have a T-CON issue in your internal that won’t effect the external!

hello mate, thanks for this info :), let me just clarify, so means that I can use an external monitor as an alternative right? since external monitor has its own tcon board? and the external monitor will not show the flickering issue in my MacBook pro screen?
@mark.balmocena - The two displays are fully independent of each other so the GPU signal (if good) won't show the bad image the other has due to a bad T-CON board (internal display assembly).
So simple stated, your good here.
