iPhone stops charging when screen is pushed into place.

Two weeks post battery change, iPhone felt to get quite hot. Stopped using it. Went to charge it later, no charge symbol when plugged it. Numerous leads, power sockets tried, no luck. Took phone apart to check connections. All looked good. Plugged in whilst phone ‘open’, charging symbol appeared, and phone charged!!! On closing the phone, charging stopped. It stopped when the bottom right hand side was fully located. It it is left ‘ajar’ phone charges! Repeats every time. Any ideas???
